Mr Tamba (full name withheld) becomes not only Mercury International biggest ever Online Betting winner but also the country’s first biggest lottery winner by scooping away a whopping sum of Four Hundred and Nineteen Million Leones (Le 419,000,000) in online football betting.
The history maker, turns a multi-millionaire, after staking a bet of One Million Leones (Le 1,000,000) from his voucher bought and staked a bet for thirteen (13) teams in the Mercury-Online fixture ‘Long List’ during the weekend’s fixture.
The teams; PSV Eindhoven, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Monaco, Juventus, Leicester City, Everton, SS Lazio, Athletico Madrid, TSG Hoffenheim, Reims and Olympic Lyon all produced the sum of 419, 000, 000 for the luckily Mr Tamba.
Receiving his prize at the Company’s headquarter at Krootown Road in Freetown, Mr Tamba said, he was relaxing at his house when he developed the urged to play, after losing the first ticket.
“It’s was like, something kept telling me to play again and I decided to buy the voucher. Luckily for me, someone assisted me to choose the teams, but the individual was very skeptical about me betting for all the 13 teams. I told him that I believe in the teams because there was a conviction in me. He even advised me to reduce the money, but I said no and went on with my conviction,” he narrated.
The teams gave me 335 points which was supposed to be Le 335,000,000, but the good thing about the online betting is that, the app gives you bonus of which I was given a bonus of 83 points, and after adding all the points, it ended up giving me 419 points which is the 419,000,000.”
The Multi-Millionaire further stated: “I can’t believe this, as I’m still emotionally down and loss of words. Indeed, we have to believe in God and pray for his blessings to win such a huge sum of money.”
The luckiest winner, also revealed that he has been a regular customer and it was not the first time for him to win from the online betting, adding that, this is the latest win he will always remember in his life.

The Chief of Operations, Mr Joseph Herb congratulated the winner for such an unusual win and stated that he was very excited to see another Sierra Leonean winning such a huge amount of money.
