A Sierra Leonean by the name of Miss Aminata Doumbouya died in Cairo on 16 November 2020 leaving behind her two years old son Alhassane Bangoura.

The child has been with his aunt Mariama Toure whilst the Embassy facilitated the repatriation of Alhassane to Sierra Leone.

This Embassy worked closely with the bereaved family of the late Aminata Doumbouya for the repatriation of the child to Freetown to stay with his uncle, who had consented to take care of him.

The required documents were obtained from the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea in Cairo, since the late mother entered Cairo with a Guinean Passport. The Embassy also helped with the COVID Test, cost for regularization of stay, a box load of food and clothing materials for the boy, Transit Allowance and a little pause to sustain them for the meantime when they arrive in Sierra Leone. Madam Mariama Toure travelled with the child on 12 February 2021 on board Royal Air Maroc flight AT273 and arrived in Conakry on Saturday 13 February 2021 at 06:30 hrs.

On arrival in Conakry, Mariama Toure travelled with AlhassanE Bangoura to Kambia Monday 15 February 2021. Both child and Aunt have arrived in Freetown and the child is now staying with his uncle Mr. Mohamed Dumbuya in Freetown.
