Judiciary of Sierra Leone Communications, Law Courts Building, Freetown, 14th July 2021:  As part of his continued commitment to making justice more accessible to the people of Sierra Leone, the Honourable Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards has for the first time in the history of the Judiciary, assigned His Worship Magistrate Santigie I. S. Bangura as Resident Magistrate in Falaba District.

His Worship Magistrate Santigie I.S. Bangura is a Sierra Leonean by nationality who graduated from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone (USL) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He later proceeded to pursue Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and graduated with an Honours degree in 2010.

His quest to be a practicing barrister and solicitor of the High Court spurred him to be admitted to the Sierra Leone Law School where he graduated in 2011. He was certified and enrolled as a Legal Practitioner in Sierra Leone in 2013.

His Worship Magistrate Bangura was appointed as Magistrate by the Judicial and Legal Service Commission in 2013, a capacity he still serves till date.

Since his appointment by His Excellency, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio in December, 2018, Justice Edwards has deployed Magistrates in all Districts and Resident Judges in Kailahun, Port Loko, Moyamba and Koinadugu Districts as part of his desire to take justice in the localities of every citizen.
