Steven Michael Musa a 59 years old business man was on Tuesday 17th August, 2021, sentenced to 4 years imprisonment or pay back the money with a court fine of 5Million Leones by Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Pademba Road Court No.2 after being convicted on a count charge of Obtaining money by false pretense contrary to Section (2) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The convict who made over 20 appearances before the verdict was taken was alleged that sometime in December 2020 at Model Junction in Freetown obtained the sum of 50Million Leones from One Michael Jusu Konneh with the pretense that he has gray 4Runner Jeep for sale knowing same to be false.
After the verdict was read, Magistrate Ngegba asked the convict to pay the sum of 5Million Leones fine to the court immediately or loose the option of not going to prison if the money that is was fraudulently converted is paid.
The convict was not legally represented, whilst ASP Hawa Bah prosecuted the matter.
