THE STORY OF ROBERT KONDEMA KARGBO – ASPIRANT
SLPP DEPUTY NATIONAL SECRETARY GENERAL

There is an African adage that says, “When a child washes his hands, he will eat with kings” and there can be no better way to describe the aspirant for the position of the National Deputy Secretary General of the Sierra Leone People’s Party in the forthcoming national delegates conference slated for December 2021 in Bo City.
That Commissioner Robert Kondema Kargbo is today one of, if not, the youngest commissioners appointed in the history of NATCOM by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio did not come by accident. RKK as he is popularly known burst into the scene in his formative years as a young, dynamic and very vibrant civil society activist advocating for mostly human and health rights that led to the setting up of Health Network (SL), one of the most outstanding CSOs in Sierra Leone today. As Executive Director of this dynamic entity, Commissioner Kargbo endeared himself to the cream of the crop of the SLPP hierarchy through active engagement on issues that bothered on health and basic human rights. Primary among these was his role in getting alcohol-manufacturing companies in the country to minimize the percentage levels of their products as many of the alcoholic drinks were creating more health problems than was necessary.
Today, Commissioner Kargbo is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Heritage Group of Companies which comprises of Heritage Newspaper currently among one of the most widely read newspapers across the country; Heritage Security Services Limited with close to 100 manned guards and with locations in Freetown, Bo, Kambia, Bombali and rapidly expanding. Heritage Cleaning and Fumigation engages in industrial cleaning of estates and businesses across the Capital Freetown. He has recently ventured into the Real Estate industry with the creation of Heritage Real Estate and Mortgage Financing Company to address the acute shortage of affordable housing and genuine purchasing of real estate.
His aspiration to the position of National Deputy Secretary General of the oldest political party in the sub region is borne out of ardent patriotism and a burning desire to contribute to the well-being and growth of his beloved country. There is no denying the fact that the current holder of this very viable position has not only been dormant in party activism but has been absolutely invisible. Many even ask ‘who is he’. But with Commissioner RKK on this seat, the current ruling party is better positioned to solidify and strengthen its hold on the Western Area which has been before now considered an opposition stronghold. The fact that his parents hail from Karene District and has a strong Christian upbringing is further testament to his fitness for this enviable position. Commissioner Robert Kondema Kargbo was born and raised from humble beginnings in the Thunder hill community of Kissy in Eastern Freetown. Here, long before he ventured into the business of politics, he is well known for his philanthropy and generosity. Over the years, he has been a blessing in many ways to youths, widows and the vulnerable not only at Thunder hill but countrywide.
We strongly encourage delegates to this year’s convention to vote massively for Commissioner Kargbo as a win for him is a win for the grassroots and an inspiration to younger members of this noble party to follow suit.
