The Sankara Media Hub Limited has met with the Director-General of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) Musayeroh Barrie in order to establish a media partnership with the institution.
The meeting took place in her office at 23 Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown on Wednesday 9th April 2025.
Madam Musayeroh Barrie has become a house hold name in Sierra Leone, her appointment as Director-General of the (SLCAA) by President Julius Maada Bio should not be seen as an ordinary appointment.
It was an epoch making decision, because she is the first female to occupy such a position in the whole of West Africa.
The Civil Aviation sphere in the world can boast of only 10 female Directors and Musayeroh Barrie happens to be the youngest across the entire globe.
Before her appointment, she was working in the Civil Aviation industry, albeit in the private sector and only having to register her debut in the public sector in her role as the SLCAA boss.
Within two years of her appointment, Musayeroh Barrie has increased public awareness of the SLCAA, which was an institution that was barely known by the general public.
By being media savvy, she has brought the SLCAA to the limelight by devising ways for the propagation of the main function of the institution which hinges on maintaining Aviation safety and security.
The role of Musayeroh Barrie by way of implementing standards set by the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) is positioning her as a global icon in the industry.
She has attracted collaborative bilateral partnerships from many countries around the world with the aim of studying and adopting international best practices for the implementation of the SLCAA.
In order to attracting Tourists and Foreign Direct Investment, Musayeroh Barrie is keen to see the positive image of Sierra Leone being publicized by the Media.
