The Fourah Bay College Student Union Cabinet has met with First Lady Fatima Bio to explore the possibility of collaborating to achieve the Student Presidency’s Manifesto promises. The visit which happened yesterday, was held at the office of the First Lady President Adama Sillah thanked Madam Fatima for her efforts towards women’s empowerment and children’s welfare and established the need for a collaboration in replicating these efforts at the University to aid her in achieving her own manifesto promises which revolved around human capital development, similarly to President Bio’s.

Adama Sillah explained that key obstacles for her Presidency remained with transportation, electricity, internet center, water and an e-library. She mentioned that these could be possible areas of intervention before mentorship programs to enhance career decisions of students.

She extended an invitation to First Lady to visit and visibly determine on her own the University’s environs atmosphere and the need for such things highlighted, as well as experience the good bits of it.  

Madam First Lady thanked the President on her achievement as the first female President in the last one hundred and ninety four years and her entourage for the visit. She expressed excitement that females are becoming more active in pursuing leadership positions.

She explained that the President has invested more in education in recent years because he believes in human capital development and people doing similarly deserves all the assistance possible. She informed the gathering that their concerns will be relayed to His Excellency and went on to direct her Chief of Staff to investigate the possibility of an Internet Café as soon as possible.

She accepted the invitation and promised to take her women’s empowerment to the University soon.
