Bai Kabbia a 36years old made another appearance before Principal Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges ranging from contravention of requirement under section 17 of the pharmacy and drugs Act 2001, to wit possession of pharmaceutical drugs without license contrary to section 59(1) of the pharmacy and drugs Act 2001.

According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 15th September 2021 at Cline Town -Western area in Freetown were found in possession of class B pharmaceutical drugs to wit fifty-one bottles of endorm (Mebendazole oral suspension and peptone six hundred and forty (chloramphenaramine) tablets without license or reasonable excuse.

 In count two the accused person carries pharmaceutical drugs, ie twenty bottles of belacid (Alumina magnesia simethicone), pain master, diclofenac diethylamide, unseen oil methyl salicylate, menthol gel) and sixteen tubes, without license or reasonable excuses.

First Prosecution witness, DPC Robert Kemokai 13858 attached to the transnational organized crime unit (TOCU) as an exhibit Clerk and his responsibility is to receive exhibit from investigators registered on the exhibit book and it was in the custody of the police and to produce such exhibit in court.

The witness said on the 15th September 2021 whilst on duty DPC 13905 Jalloh M.Y brought to him pharmaceutical drugs as exhibits to which it was registered against serial number 20/2021, the exhibits were produced and tendered in court.

Representing the accused person M.Y Kanu renewed his bail application.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of two hundred million Leones or one surety in like sum. Surety must be resident in the western area the said surety must be elderly and responsible citizen, and should produce identity card depicting his/her address which is to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar.
ASP Aminatu Daboh is prosecuting matter and has been adjourned to 12th October, 2021.
