The gang-rape of a sixteen year old school girl in Bo city, three years ago, has been before the Court without justice being served as the victim continues to suffer in silence.
The matter was adjourned to 14th April before Justice Francis Kamara. Our investigations reveal that the file of one of the three accised persons has been missing in court leaving behind speculations of foul play.
However, the matter attracted a women organization based in the US called African Women’s Research Initiative for Social Empowerment (African Women’s RISE) which has written to the Judiciary of Sierra Leone twice in respect of this case, the first one being the letter addressed to Justice Sannoh who earlier presided over the matter. The organization has just written this open letter to call on the Judiciary to fast track this case for justice to prevail. See full details of the Open Letter addressed to the Judge.
