The Deputy Minister II of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School (MBSSE), Mrs. Mamusu Massaquoi has inspired partners at a three days innovative Education Outcome Fund (EOF) and impart Bond working Group (IBWG ) annual conference held at the Imperial College in London.

Madam Mamusu Massaquoi informed the three-days innovation programme which was held from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 14 July was very interactive.

The Deputy Minister II MBSSE informed the Sierra Leone government is co- funding the Sierra Leone Education Innovation Challenge (SLEIC).

” The programme is a partnership  between the government and Education Outcomes Fund.

The other sponsors include FCDO, KOICA, Hampel Foundation and Bank of America, which included the private sector,” the Deputy Minister II of MBSSE informed.

Madam Mamusu said the Bio-led government has placed education and Human Capital Development at the heart of all government programmes.

She said the Outcomes’ Fund will enable the government of Sierra Leone to improve local context, develop and improve existing interventions from Government, as well as transferring of such delivery risk to the non-state sector.

She disclosed under the Sierra Leone Innovative Challenge (SLEIC) Programme, the majority of funds will be paid out for literacy and numeracy Outcomes once they are successfully delivered.

“Thank you President Bio for a worthy choice.Thank you Moinina David Sengeh for being the energized driver and Team of MBSSE for supporting such innovative processes,” she stated.

The Deputy Minister II expressed satisfaction for the innovative programme and explained strides in improving education by President Julius Maada Bio and his government.

She informed tremendous improvement has occurred in the education sector since President Bio took over in 2018 as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The Deputy Minister minister said she shared her ministry’s  success story on education at the Education Outcomes fund (EOF).

She called on all to support education in the country as government is spending 22% of it’s national budget on education.

The Deputy Minister is expected to return to the country very soon.
