National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) led by General Manager in charge of administration, Peter Jusu Kaneh NASSIT Project Manager, Head of Procurement and other senior officials together with prospective bidders’ representatives have today Friday 9th April, 2021 inspected proposed Sub-Office construction land site in Moyamba Town, Southern Region.
The land site is situated at Reservation Road, adjacent Moyamba District Council Building and demarcated at Barracks Road, Moyamba Town. The land site encompasses National Electoral Commission (NEC) and Social Welfare Ministry existing old buildings.
Speaking during the land site visitation, NASSIT General Manager Administration, Peter J. Kaneh underscored the significance of the land site visitation saying was a pre – bidding meeting for prospective bidders who demonstrated interest to bid for the construction of their proposed Sub- – Office in Moyamba Town.
He further expressed the determination and commitments of NASSIT Director General, Mohamed Fuad Daboh to expand coverage of the scheme in strategic district like Moyamba.
He further explained the due process by the institution to acquire the land site for the proposed construction of theirsub-office In Moyamba.
He said that it was an opportunity for them to familiarize themselves with the land site, asked questions and clarifications in relations to the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for the construction.
NASSIT Head of Procurement, Jonathan J Kamanda reiterated that the site visit is a fulfillment of the required due process specify for construction stressing that prospecting bidders to see the land site asked questions of issues to the BOQ.
He further spoke about the criteria required to meet for any bidder to qualify pointing out that the process was still opened up to 23rd this month to potential bidders that will be interested.
Representative of the Paramount Chief, Kaiyamba Chiefdom, Mohamed Mansaray said that the people of Moyamba always embraced development coming to the district.
According to him, establishing NASSIT Sub Office is a welcome move that will save time and transport cost to access the office in other district.
He further reiterated on the challenges the people there have been faced for too long in a bid to access the service of NASSIT.
NASSIT Project Manager, Abel Onomake said that the site visit was a further extension of the statement they have in the BOQ for bidders to familiarize themselves with the land, its configuration, physical site and proximity of materials that will be needed during the construction process.
He said the site was a vast land that would be used to house both the office and the Manager’s quarters.
He further entreated the bidders to focus in every detail of the land and ask all the necessary questions they would require answers to Conducted tour of the land site questions and answers, clarifications from bidders and media practitioners climaxed the event.
