Many people refer to her as the iron lady and the alpha omega of the North West Region, since the Sierra Leone People Party appointed her Resident Minister of the North West, many opportunity emerged in the process of transforming the newly created Region.
On 6 March 2021, Jimmy Bruzon Action for Schools project through the leadership of the Resident minister champion for the construction of water well at Kulafai Rashideen Islamic Primary Whafe Road Port Loko City .
The construction of the water well is as a result of the deprivable status of the school in terms of pure water and proper hygiene and sanitation of the school pupils and Taneneh community which was seriously heat by the Ebola outbreak.
Hon Haja Isata Abdulai Kamara, Resident Minister of North West Region said that the construction of the water well is very significant at this time of the fight against COVID 19 in the District. She went on to state that the project of the water well was funded by a long-time friend who has the desire to transform lives and communities with special reference to schools. Resident Minster further highlighted that the donor, Jimmy Bruzon promised to support rural communities who are deprived and vulnerable and need serious attention.
Haja Isata Abdulai Kamara called on the people of the community and school management committee to provide support in the construction of the water well , which she said can benefit not only the school but also the community as well and urged workers not to steal the cement or iron rolls but to monitor the proper use of the materials.
Resident Minister also built premises on the commitment of the president in transforming the newly established region and city of Port Loko. She catalogued some of the project the government has commissioned such as the Rowbeh Agricultural Project, Dr Kadi Sesay Girl School and the Construction of a one hundred bed hospital in Port Loko City .
Mr. Foday Santigie Kanu, the regent Paramount Chief of Bakeh Loko Chiefdom. He thanked the relentless effort of the Resident Minister of mobilizing resources and materials for the benefit of the Region and District, he said that such efforts will go a long way to salvage some of the problems in schools and deprived communities.
The head mistress of the schools, Madam Patrice Kabba, said that the construction of the water well is very timely and significant for the vulnerability of children and challenges of the community to access safe drinking water. She assured the resident minister that they will provide the necessary tools in monitoring the progress of the project and create an enabling atmosphere and contribution in the construction.
A class five pupil of Kulafai Rashideen Islamic Primary School, Isatu Kanu praised the fantastic effort of the Honourable Minister to facilitate the construction of water well. She lamented that the school was constructed without any water facility. Isatu Kanu stated that the Resident Minister is a true daughter of the soil; she went on to appreciate President Bio’s free quality education project.
