44 year old Joseph Morgan who stood as surety for one Devine Leone at East End Police Station in Freetown for obtaining goods, jumped bail and never showed up at the police station for further investigations.

Joseph Morgan, the accused person of 8 Nylender Street, Aberdeen, Freetown, on Monday 10th January 2022 appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No. (2) in Freetown.

The accused, Joseph Morgan between Tuesday 14th and Friday 17th December 2021, at East End Police Station, Freetown, preventing Divine Leone at East End Police, Freetown, as a surety for the said Divine Leone, being investigated for the offence of obtaining goods by false pretence. The accused person was represented by Mr. Sandy who applied for bail on behalf of the accused person arguing that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction with a fixed abode and therefore would not jump bail in addition to the fact that the accused person has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into recognizance on his behalf.

He made his application pursuant to section (79) (3) of the Criminal Procedure Act No. (32) of 1965.

However, Magistrate Keikura said upon hearing the application for bail on behalf of the accused person and taken into consideration the seriousness of the allegation, he was refused bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.

And order subpoena to be served on the investigation officer, Police Constable 15152 Turay H.B prosecuting the matter that was adjourned to the 17th January 2022.
