The Global President of the Tongo International Solutions (TIS), Mr. Abdulai Kabba in an exclusive interview on Monday 7th February 2022 informed this medium that the dinner and dance organized on Saturday 5th February 2022 at the Murry Deen Preparatory School in Freetown to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the former National Diamond Mining (NDMC) Hospital in Tongofields, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District, was a success and commended all those who patronized them adding that another fund-raising dinner and dance would be held in Tongofields on 13th February this year.

He appealed to all indigenes of the chiefdom and well-wishers to patronize a worthy cause as the hospital used to be a center of excellence providing medical services not only to Sierra Leoneans but other foreign nationals disclosing that plans are also underway to ship state-of-the-art medical equipment from America to Tongofields when the hospital project would have been completed.

Popular musician, Steady Bongo and his Musical Heroes will perform at the dinner and dance in Tongofields for only Le10, 000.

At the recent meeting held in Freetown, TIS unanimously resolved that fund-raising ventures should be intensified through the distribution of letters to various stakeholders, that a national account should be opened where monies donated should be deposited, that rehabilitation of the Tongo Field, former National Diamond Mining Company Hospital must be done in phases once the work commences and that an ecumenical remembrance service be held for all deceased members and indigenes of the chiefdom.

Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles, Executive Director of the Legal Aid Board is the newly-elected TIS National President.

Mr. Abdulai Kabba further revealed that TIS on 16th January  2022 also opened and launched a new branch in neighboring Guinea for descendants, friends and well-wishers of Tongofields and Lower Bambara Chiefdom resident in Guinea at Nongo Conteyah (University of Nongo) and encouraged indigenes and well-wishers of Lower Bambara Chiefdom to join TIS revealing that when completed the NDMC Hospital would be renamed the Dr. James Anthony Samba Memorial Hospital in honor of Dr. James Samba who dedicated his life and service to the people of the chiefdom.

According to the Global TIS President, fund-raising activities will also be organized in the diaspora for rehabilitation of the hospital and appealed to all stakeholders in the chiefdom to attend all the fundraising activities for the rehabilitation of the former National Diamond Mining Company Hospital.

According to the global Secretary General of TIS, Mr. Amadu Daramy, fondly called Wyseman, based in Maryland in the United States, the dilapidated hospital structure that has been abandoned for decades since the rebels vandalized it would be rehabilated by members of TIS both at home and abroad.

He informed that in memory of the late national president of TIS, Dr. Anthony Samba, who worked tirelessly at the hospital for over 20 years, Members of TIS have unanimously consented to rename the hospital, the Dr. James Samba Memorial Hospital and appealed to all to patronize TIS on 13th February this year in Tongofields.

Over the years, TIS has also donated food and non-food items to the people of Tongofields and its environs as well as scholarships to deserving pupils.

The three main objectives of the organization are the promotion of health, education and agriculture in the chiefdom.
