Those powerful words defined the keynote address of Hon. Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Sierra Leone, at the 16th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) in London.

Addressing an audience of African leaders, policymakers, investors, and business executives, the Minister underscored that credibility is the cornerstone of sustainable economic transformation. He emphasized that restoring investor confidence requires prudent fiscal management, transparent governance, policy consistency, and unwavering commitment to reform.
Highlighting Sierra Leone’s ongoing economic progress, Hon. Bangura noted that the Government’s reform agenda is firmly anchored in macroeconomic stability, sound public financial management, fiscal discipline, and the creation of an enabling environment for private sector-led growth.
He further stressed that strong institutions, responsible economic stewardship, and policy credibility are essential to attracting investment, creating jobs, stimulating inclusive growth, and securing long-term prosperity for the people of Sierra Leone.
“Credibility is earned through consistent action, disciplined leadership, and the courage to pursue reforms that build confidence at home and abroad.”
His address reinforced Sierra Leone’s growing reputation as a reform-oriented nation committed to responsible economic governance and sustainable development, further positioning the country as an emerging destination for investment and strategic partnerships on the African continent.
